Oh, it's just your standard cry for battle, blood, honor, death and glory. Very Amazon-ish, in its way.

This is what this thread has become while I was offline for the weekend? A They Might Be Giants tribute page? I feel kind of sabotaged... Is Malcolm in the Middle more important than the fact that we didn't get White Lantern Marvin (from Superfriends/Teen Titans?)

Are you saying this guy should be a White Lantern?

After defeating the villain, the heroes didn't hold hands and sing "Stand By Me".

And WHY not --- it could have been a multi-media experience - you know imbed a chip in each comic like the Hallmark cards ...

Jim, you've ruined Blackest Night for me. I really thought it was a tremendous series, but now that I have it in my head that we could have actually listened to all the heroes singing Stand By Me at the end of the last issue... well, it just makes what we got seem highly, highly disappointing. Let's just hope Geoff doesn't read this thread, because if he sees this and realizes that he could have done this and didn't, he'll most likely resign his new gig as CCO and go work in a car wash somewhere.

Honestly, if BN #8 had ended this way, I'd have bought 50 copies. It probably would have been the last comic I'd ever buy in my life (why bother? Nothing could top this) but I'd have bought 50 copies.

Remember, this is Geoff Johns we're talking about, here. He could just as easily retcon it and pretend that it did end that way. And I'm pretty sure we'd all go along with it.

Nekron was not defeated by the use of delicious Hostess Fruit Pies. Complete and utter failure on DC's part.

Not just fruit pies, but a fruit pie corps. Seven different-colored pies to represent the flavor spectrum.

The Red Bee.

One of the first and most monumental of comic book deaths.

I'd have went with #711 and Nadir, Master of Magic (actually killed IN the Golden Age) over Red Bee.

No slight on the Bee intended.

Exactly. This stuff writes itself. Way to miss the boat, Geoff.

When I see stuff like this it reminds me that I have to work on TJ to get him to resurrect the Post of the Week contest.....

Maybe I need to go borrow a White Lantern ring first.....

That the White Lanterns who went up against Nekron didn't say "all I've got to do is stay white".
