To me, it played out as essentially Rogues: Rebirth, with the subtitle, "Quit screwing up these characters and read how they're supposed to be portrayed!"

The second Mirror Master and Trickster were always Wally West Rogues.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but McCulloch didn't even meet Flash until five years (real time) after his debut in Animal Man did he?

This is true, he debuted in Animal Man in 1989 and first appeared in The Flash in 1995. He didn't appear as a member of The Rogues until Underworld Unleashed where he died and was later resurrected (with the rest of The Rogues) and has been an almost exclusively Wally foe since.

I think the true stamp of any writer worth his salt is... making Cobalt Blue a badass.

Gauntlet. Tossed.

Up next: Conduit's Revenge in the pages of Action Comics!

Believe it or not, I LOVE COMICS!!! and it's only hard to tell because I know that they can be and SHOULD BE better.

Cobalt Blue would be a bit of an elephant in the room wouldn't he? He really should be addressed, y'know, what with the whole identical twin separated at birth thing. I really enjoyed Chain Lightning for what it's worth, y'know, except for the whole identical twin separated at birth thing.

I'm certain a Superboy Prime punch eliminated Cobalt Blue forever. In fact, I'm surprise that any fans even remember this flat one hit wonder of a character at all? Cobalt Blue is the modern day Mopee. Period.

As far a throwing gauntlet's go, I think DC got a big enough challenge dealing with rabid Flash fans as it is. Believe me, they don't want to bring back Cobalt Blue and turn their Barry Allen fanbase against them too. That would just about BURY the Flash forever.

Mackenzie Ryan anyone? UGH!

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I was initially intrigued by the Cobalt Blue villain but the reveal that he was Barry's twin was way too daytime soap opera for me and certainly reduced my enjoyment of an otherwise enjoyable storyline (Chain Lightning).

I imagine too, that Cobalt Blue will be a character that, if not retconned out of continuity, will be forgotten about/ignored by DC. This would not only be due to his relationship to Barry, but likely also because of the use of Hypertime in the Chain Lightning and Dark Flash storylines which was a concept that only Morrison and Waid (and Kesel briefly in the Superboy title) seemed to acknowledge.

Shame really, as I quite enjoyed the Dark Flash/Walter West storyline. Replicant seemed a bit of a lame villain ("I've absorbed all the Rogue's powers!") but felt the Folded Man villain had great potential.

Geoff could make Cobalt Blue work, I'm fairly certain. I just doubt it's worth it.

I am going to be realistic. I can see Wally fading into the background for a while, because he does have a family and needs to do the father and husband thing more than the Flash thing. So Barry will be the focus in Flash for a while. Isn't Jay slated to do during this Crisis? I think people forget that there is a whole generation or 2 now that have only known Wally to be the Flash. I was 4 when Barry died. By the time I started reading comics Wally was established as the Flash.

I don't know, I think if Chain Lightning had been written during the silver age, before the evil twin trope had been discredited, he'd be considered a classic villain. He's no goofier than the rest of the Rogues, either in name or gimmick. Maybe a bit too close to Prof. Zoom in concept (the opposite number), but he could easily have been Barry's Savitar.

I miss Savitar.

The Dead Heat arc was brilliant and Savitar still seems too dangerous a villain to remain a one off.

Savitar would be a great return for Rebirth. He was evil speedster that we didn't get to know for very long.

What I would like to see in this Rebirth is something that I feel they took great care in doing in the GL one. Have the final fight take all of the Flashes or Speedsters working together to win. They made sure to show how each GL was different in the way they construct with their rings and how they approach things but made no one way better then the rest. They even included Alan Scott and Jade by having them convince the rest of the heroes to back off and let the Corps handle it.

I want to see Jay, Barry, and Wally each be needed to take out the villain or villains and have the writers show how each one is different from the others. Maybe even toss in Jesse Chambers to honor the Quick family side of the Speed Force.

Oh and I would love to see Barry marvel at how Wally manage to find and master the Speed Force when Barry himself wasn't sure if it existed at all.

I'd like a non altered reality, non future, non virtual reality meeting between Bart and Barry.

I think that Bart is supposed to return in Legion of 3 Worlds. So I think that it is possible that Barry and Bart will meet up sometime soon.
